I noticed a few days ago that my older topic regarding an Rapide S had been bumped and someone was wondering weather I had proceeded, I got some very helpful advice and feedback in that thread so I thought an update and me sharing my experiences was only fair!

I am due to collect next week, as mentioned my first Aston Martin, and my first V12 so really looking forward to it.

I drove quite a few different cars this year (V12 Vantage S SSIII, Rapide S, Vanquish S, DBS and of course Vanquish) before making my final decision and that would be my first recommendation, do see the cars and drive them rather than just going of YouTube or the like, you may find your opinion very different to that of others. For me at least, the Vanquish was the clear winner, it strikes the perfect balance is a fantastic super GT, which in todays market also represents brilliant value for what you are getting...

The car I am picking up is a lovely example, full Ason Martin service history (which is surprisingly not that common), just 2 owners, low miles at 11,000, full car PPF done to a very high standard, as well as some options I personally love like the red calipers, 'spicy red' interior stitching and quilted leather which really lifts the interior and makes it that much more special.

It also had the carbon fibre, or forged carbon Aston Martin wing badges front/back from factory, and full carbon fibre padels, which most Carbon Edition cars do not. Bang & Olufsen systen, One-77 wheel (standard on Carbon edition?), perfect spec in terms of what I wanted.

I am getting the car from a AM main dealer so comes with 12 months warranty. The supplying dealer also agreed to change the battery as part of the sale, and include a AM charger too as well as an experience day at Millbrook test track in 2024.

There were apparently only 63 UK RHD cars, and only 190 made in black/white- mine is ceramic black.

The carbon fibre roof is a detail I particularly like.

Th Vanquish for me was the perfect mix of stunning looks, performance, usability, and style- I had the budget for an 'S' and drove one as that was what I was lookin to buy but liked the overall look of the standard Vanquish more, the character of the car to me was perfect for what I would want from an Aston and suited the car more than the S. The circa 25K premium I felt was not really justified (IMO others views may differ of course). A secondary decat at AM is inexpensive and the test drives I did not feel the circa 28 bhp difference the standard, 8 speed ZF gearbox Vanquish is a very, very quick car!!

Thank you to everyone who helped in my other thread, and contrinutes to this forum, some great advice on here..

Beautiful car. Looks menacing in black. I’ve just bought a Vanquish in lightning silver, loving it so far. Interested to hear your thoughts when you pick it up .

Congratulations on your purchase.

The bit in bold, 63 cars? There are hundreds of vanquish cars in the uk, or did I misunderstand your quote? Not familiar with an AM colour of ceramic black either, the ‘carbon’ cars were either white or carbon black?

Thank you (to both of you).

The colour is Carbon Black, AML colour. Don't quite know where I got the ceramic from, I have it booked in for a ceramic coating maybe that's why smile

63 UK RHD cars of the Carbon Edition in black- produced only for a year I think and just 190 cars grand total produced in each colour black/white.

I was after this version after seeing one last year.

Lightining silver is also a lovely colour btw, one of my favourites from the lighter colours really works well on an Aston.

Thank you, it has a lovely deep mettalic shine to it.

I think the interior on this generation of Vanquish is much nicer in terms of feel and look than the later DBS SL which I looked at (of course the DBS has it's own merits)

I think the carbon edition cars all come with the carbon 'herringbone' waterfall dash which is a thing of beauty, I like the piano black waterfall dash a lot too, but the carbon one which is seen less often really is lovely and makes the interior feel special.

The only uprade I am considering for now is a secondary cat delete/cccharger valve controller.

Has anyone had either or both fitted to a Vanquish? I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

I share your enthusiasm for a Carbon Black Vanquish. As can be seen, I added some Vanquish S trim details and wheels. I also deleted the secondary cats and added a cc charger exhaust control both of which I highly recommend.

Good choice......

I have had a secondary decat done on my Vanquish (Gen II) plus CCCharger by-pass. The decat makes a few more BHP and a sounds very similar to the Vanquish S.. The CCC allows for full on Hoodlam behaviour if you are so inclined. :-)

I incidentally, have a brand new (unused) second gen CCCharger for a Vanquish for sale....pm me if interested.

Cheers
