Hi all,

We are looking for recommendations of a sun/beach holiday, mainly to unwind, but with some life nearby. We have been to Protaras, Cyprus a few times which is ideal, but want to try somewhere for a change.

Some of the hotels on TUI etc are fantastic but seem to be in the middle of nowhere. We're not looking for clubs, but a change of scenery for the evening (within walking distance) to people watch and enjoy a beer or two at a bar.

Hoping to go for 7/10 days, late September.

Thanks!

Crete this time of year. Chania or maybe Agios Nikolas.

Croatia. Weather should be lovely at this time of year. A lot of the beaches can be a bit stony, but a pair of water shoes will sort that if you want a dip in the water. And most beaches are close to nice towns - Rovinj is a particular favourite, and some of the scenery further infield is pretty spectacular, such as Krka National Park with its waterfalls.

Crete- Chania, Rethymno or Agios Nikolaos.

We are going end of September to Agios. All three are decent sizes, plenty to do and weather is usually very good(high 20s) and sea is warm.
Don’t book an AI resort unless it’s a very good price as eating out is excellent.

Crete - Paleochora.

You won't be able to book an AI resort - there aren't any.

To be different to the other suggestions what about Italy, we stayed in a small town in Puglia called Vieste a few years back. On the Adriatic, sandy beaches, very Italian small town, lots of night life by way of bars & restaurants on the streets, Not many British tourists. If you get a car you can explore the coast where you will find even smaller towns dating back centuries.

Thanks all, I will take a look. I had looked at Rhodes but didn't consider Crete. Croatia seems popular too.

Late September you are probably better off Rhodes, Crete or Cyprus- Croatia is lovely but weather a bit more unpredictable.

Crete would be my choice by miles

September is my favourite month to visit Croatia. Generally still nice and warm but way fewer tourists and cheaper
