As a John Carpenter fan, thought it was worth sharing this new Vice documentary about the film maker.

Was a bit worried when I saw the thread title, given that he seems to have been in his late 70's for the last 30 years. Also a big fan, The Fog was the first "real" horror film I can recall seeing and helped make me a lifelong fan,. Everything from Assault on Precinct 13 to In the Mouth of Madness was one hell of a run, even if everything after that dropped off rather dramatically. His music is well worth checking out as well.

Precinct 13 is currently on prime - I can never decide if that or escape from New York is my favourite !

He’s a legend. That he wrote and performed his own scores are what really makes the films, plus some great casting choices

Yet poor critical response at the time.

I agree, it's a superb film.
