Family car… SVR or GLC63S?
Discussion
I did have a sport SVR previously, but I got offered a good deal for it so took it.
I’ve now been offered a pretty much new, fully loaded GLC63S for £73k from a main dealer or a 2019 sport with 15k miles and a few goodies for £67k.
I’m 28 next month so don’t want to get the smaller engine models (do it while I can!) it’ll be a family wagon, as I have a GT3 I use for weekends and track days etc.
Not sure what’s better, I’d like some advice as I like both really. I have a baby and dog, so I need a bigger car.

Which one do you prefer?
Honestly, really like both of them. Heart says GLC because of the smaller size, it’s a bit easier to use as a daily and for my wife to drive.
Head says SVR as they look good, they sound brutal, however wife doesn’t like them anymore due to the people that drive them nowadays and how much of a target it makes you. That and the insurance costs nowadays…
But the GLC is more expensive, so it’s definitely a tricky one to decide.

Have you considered the F Pace SVR?
I can see the appeal of an f pace, but it’s not really something I actually like personally. Another thing I’d consider is a cayenne turbo, just then I’m looking at 80k+.
That being said, any high performance SUV is on the scumbag wish-list. They just seem to be what they want.
Personally I’d steer clear of an RR SVR as they’re going to crash in value big time - and are already doing so - due to the insurance costs. Stories of people trying to sell 18 month old cars and being offered low 60k for them and lots of places just won’t take them.
How about an Aston DBX? Are they available for £80k yet? Or perhaps an Alfa Stelvio Quad?

28 and looking for your second SVR with a GT3 toy?
Good effort!
Ha, I’ve got a few toys. I’m pretty lucky I own a SaaS business that done quite well early on. Still not where I want to be! Good effort!
Re the DBX - I’ll take a look, great idea. Shame M3T’s aren’t dropping quickly, that would be an excellent car to own.
At the moment, GLC63S is winning purely for the insurance costs alone. ATM it’s £1000 to add to my insurance, but next year will be a killer.
