as discussed earlier my daughters car got seized my the police for not having insuranve but it did she had just put private plates on , we are due to collect the car on this thursday , the car is fully insured but whats all this about compound insurance can some one explain . i dont want to get there and get turned away .

I'm not sure what you mean by compound insurance, but you may be referring to the fact that generally your insurance policy on your car will state that it can't be used to secure the release of another vehicle from a Police pound following seizure.

im so confused it says its a special insurance needed for 30 days. ive asked the police compound centre by email no responce yet

Some insurance companies don't allow the release of vehicles from government compounds (insurance and I assume tax). The larger ones tend to.

Contact the insurance company and ask them.

If they don't you'll have to use the link a few posts up.

Its to stop people using their 'third party any car not owned by them' to recover cars from a pound for a 'mate.' It's a specific exclusion on fully comp policies, so that any car needing to be recovered has it own policy in place.

If she has insurance in HER name for the car, it should be what is required.
