This week in my C3 I had the pressure monitor warning on a tyre. Pressure on one was low so I pumped it up and reset the sensor. Rinse and repeat pumping the tyre as I wasn't able to get anywhere by the time I got home from work, and I park on the street so changing to the spare is a pain. I booked it into Kwik Fit on Friday after work as I was working from home that day.

I went in, they said they couldn't find a leak and it might be the valve, go to Citroen. By that time the Citroen dealer garage was closed. Not impressed with Kwik Fit as they didn't seem that bothered, I went over to my dad's so the car was on the driveway and the wheel could come off. This was in the tread.

Firstly, how not arsed or useless do you have to be to check a tyre for leaks and not see that?? Kwik Fit Wrexham - 0/10. Won't be going there again.

Anyway, It didn't look like a screw or nail head, so we were wondering what it was, but it was in the middle of the tread so was probably repairable, we put the spare wheel on lastnight, and this morning we went to a tyre place that my dad goes to, a small independent place. This is what got pulled out of the tyre.

A 4" long drill bit. The tyre guy's reaction was yikes "Have you seen this?!?". So I've had a free drill bit hehe , the repair cost £20, better than a new Michelin at £90-100. So I'm happy it's sorted now.

What's the biggest/weirdest/silliest thing you've had out of a punctured tyre?

I had one of the e-cig elf bars go through my tyre.
The noise it made when i drove over it.
Left a nice 3/4" hole in a nearly new tyre.

Really chunky bolt like they use for scaffolding went in my tyre years ago. It was all the way in but sealed and I was able to get home. I have no idea how it got through the tyre as it didn’t have a point and was 1cm diameter with I guess a 14mm head.

My first thought was a deliberate act. But then thought: nah, nobody would drill into a tyre confused

You'd think that, but those green nutters are going round doing exactly that to SUV tyres. But a C3?! Unless it's a Corvette C3...

I got a 5" bolt through my C4 rear tyre and whilst it was thrashing around it managed to break a rear spring in the process, I was surprised it didnt smash through the alloy but luckily I got away with that, made a right row though.

A new 6 inch or so long square head coach bolt on a single track lane at night somewhere near Bewdley. Tore a decent sized hole in a rear tyre.

One of these.

I think the front tyre kicked it upwards so it hit the rear perfectly.

A friend of mine had one of those small laughing gas canisters go through his 911 tyre, made a pretty beefy hole in it

I've not had any unusual objects causing a puncture, but have been given the run-around by useless tyre fitters that can't find puncture this year.

Have you checked the wheel for being porous? This or corrosion around where the bead seats are common causes of what seems like a slow puncture.

Hit a rock in my FFRR

iPhone for scale

Made a heck of a noise as it rattled around in the wheel, and meant I had to change the wheel on side of a narrow lane on holiday.
