I took out a month's subscription to Disney because a friend recommended The Bear. Turns out I don't understand a word of it.

What else is worth watching?

Lots of people rate The Americans. I couldn't get along with it but I'm the odd one out and will revisit it. Mr. In-between is brilliant, I think it's Disney? Mayans MC is very good. Dopesick was brilliant. Snowfall is amongst my top three series ever.

It's very rare for me to enjoy this kind of thing but The Dropout, about Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos, is really excellent.

28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later are (surprisingly) both on there too, which always get my vote.

Just finished watching 24 - that was pretty gripping.

Welcome to Wrexham.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhennys take over of Wrexham AFC. I'm not a football fan yet loved the series.

Pam and Tommy (Excellent)
Candy.. true story about all American mom who is also a murderer.
People vs OJ Simpson (Superb)

I've also just watched the first series of The Bear and can't work out what the fuss is about. I've seen it compared to the Sopranos. I'm baffled as to why.

I think it depends what you are expecting from the Bear, I thought it was brilliant but some eps were still hard going. There is a lot of shouting in the early episodes.

No idea why the Sopranos ref. One character is drug dealing at one point, it's sort of implied another is 'connected' but it's mostly a family drama based around a restaurant.

Only Murders in the Building is quite good.

That's what I struggled with. I managed 1.5 episodes and had virtually no idea what they were saying to one another or what the story was.

For various reasons I had the subs on, which helped in some scenes.
The first few are hard going, worth sticking with though.

It’s the weakest of the streaming platforms. The Marvel/Star Wars shows shave been poor. The Marvel stuff is shockingly poor. Star Wars TV has been better but fact is much of that is poor as well.

IMO Apple TV is the weakest, I got 6 months free Apple TV, watched Ted Lasso and struggling to find anything else to watch that's not chargeable.

We all have different tastes. Apple TV is the Waitrose of streamers for me. It’s not awash with content like Netflix, but what there is is clearly well made and aimed at adults.
Severance, Foundation, Servant, The Morning Show, Blackbird. There’s a lot on there that’s worth watching.

I have to agree about Apple TV. The quality is way above that of Netflix in my opinion.
Back to Disney though, the standout show for me was Mr in between. The ending after three seasons was particularly brilliant especially if you like stuff like Breaking bad
