Non N rated tyres now allowed by Porsche Extended Warranty!
Discussion
Dear All,
I am back in Porsche ownership after a break! (1 Cayman and 3 911s).
Now I'm the proud owner of a 2012 Panamera GTS. I am looking to extend the warranty, two more years are possible.
I was worried that the car does not have N rated tyres as in the past I remember that this would invalidate the warranty.
However I was told by Porsche Guildford that N rated tyres are now "only recommended" but not mandatory. This is a change made by Porsche. As long as the tyres are the right size and inflated correctly then they are fine to be used.
This is a real improvement in the coverage.
Just thought I'd let you all know that piece of info.
Best

Congratulations! I had a GTS from the same year, in GT Silver with black wheels. Number plate was NC62 NXV in case you happened to have bought the same one. Amazing car, still miss the engine note. I had mine up to an indicated 178mph and it was still pulling, they’re underrated. I am back in Porsche ownership after a break! (1 Cayman and 3 911s).

That's interesting, probably sensible too - I imagine that's the only change and that they won't now start allowing non-Porsche batteries and wiper blades etc. However I was told by Porsche Guildford that N rated tyres are now "only recommended" but not mandatory.
