How to tell if a 968 Sport has M030??
Discussion
Hi guys,
My mate has just bought a 968 Sport in Riviera. The seller told him it has M030, but he isn't convinced. The car looked quite low to me on the pics from the advert.
How do you know if the car is M030? Is it on the cars option/spec list on the sticker in the log book/under the luggage compartment (I know that's where it is on a 911)? Or can you tell by inspecting the suspension itself?
Cheers.

John, the option sticker will be by the spare wheel well in teh boot and should have 030 on there.
The shocks themselves will be yellow Konis and have adjustable spring platforms at the front. The quickest way is to look at the rear shock. M030 will have a helper spring - standard will just be a plain shock with no springs.

The owners manual will also have the options sticker - should show 030 & 220 (= LSD) which was included in the 030 factory option. The easiest way to check is that it should have cross-drilled brake disks & the front caliper should be noticeably larger than the rear.
However there are 968's that have been retrofitted with 030 suspension & other parts - in which case yellow Koni shocks (compared to black Sachs) all around, plus top-adjustable fronts is the way to tell.

Cheers all.
Alas no M030 or LSD
However car does sit pretty low compared to others and handling seems ace, but not crashy like the RS.
I'll investigate further and tell you my finding - actually I'll probably just leave it up to Jonny or Adom.
Drove the car today - dead happy - needs a few little bits, but pretty mint - especially when I lose those ridiculous alloys and replace them with std Cup IIs
