Another 993 GT2 has found a new home. The speed yellow car from Specialist cars has been sold to a friend of a friend. Saw it this morning, very nice condition car. Top money, but top condition. Just needs the GT3 seats and acres of carbon interior removed.
What with this one and the blue french car sold, all the good ones have been snapped up.

Crikey JC, your friends of friends seem to be well minted. They all keep buying 993 GT2s!! And pushing the prices up where I can't reach!!
I didn't realise that the yellow Malton car had carbon trim and GT3 seats. Some people have no taste. Still, easily to sort for the new owner.
Will the new owner really drive the car, or will he keep it as a low mileage car just for driving on the odd sunny day? It's a very expensive car to take on track days, that's for sure. Good on him though.

John, along those lines you would have been impressed last monday..
There was a historic race car parade at brands,, amongst the 917's, 962's, St's etc....about 30 cars...I noticed a familiar Gt2 in an unusual shade of blue..
The cars were lapping and I kept my eye on the blue car, before long I noticed it was overtaking everything,,,917's on the outside...962's on the inside, right the way through the field until it was behind Richard Attwood in athe Carrera GT pace car....The Gt2 driver realising there was nowhere to go, promptly made a pit stop to come out in the middle of the field to start passing everything again....I was laughing out loud from the grandstand it was a great display...I wonder who the nutter was in the blue car?

Is it that hard to overtake when everyone else is sat behind a pace car not overtaking each other?

So do you and the other 993 GT2 owners drive your cars to the circuits?
I do, as the road-trip aspect is as much a part of the fun for me as the track-driving, but I know most GT3RS drivers seem to trailor theirs everywhere (they just love pickup trucks - yeh hah).
IMOM and I drive mine to Spa or the 'ring (as does Vic when his out of the UK pass is valid!). Used to trailer my rhd 993rs a few year ago, have bad memories of loading the car up in the pixxing rain, only to drive another 450 miles at 70mph.
Not for me personally, as you say, half the fun is being able to drive there and back in relative comfort, blitz the track for two days and then drive home.

DANH the briefing was to overtake either side, where ever u like and NOT to overtake Dickie Attwood but drive slowly through the pits ...............i for one, luved it and some fun was had by all............oh by the way had a ride in same Carrera Gt with Mr Attwood on Friday beforehand ,poor old chap seems to go quite fast !

The trailer debate interests me. I live miles from most circuits (in Newcastle). And you can't go much quicker than 70 MPH on the A1 anyway, so a trailer may be for me as it would keep the miles down on my car which is quite loud and stiffly sprung as well. The other thing is tyres. It would be fun to mess about with slicks sometimes, or even use standard type road tyres when it rains (instead of Corsas or Cups), so a trailer with a variety of wheels/tyres on it may be good for me. Having air jacks on my car is definitely making me think like this......we are talking lightening quick wheel changes here!!

Johnny, understand what you are saying, what you also have to factor in is the time to load and unload the whole kit and caboodle every time.
It used to take me best part of an hour to hitch the car up to the trailer, load the wheels on, load the tools on, load the car on - phew and it was hard work!
There are plently of track day organisers who will ship/change wheels and tyres for you on foreign track days, understand the mileage issue but as the air cooled RS's and GT2 values are always on the up, I figure any miles I put on will be compensated for by an increase in value.

Ah fair enough, the only lap I watched was just a procession!
