Looking at the PH front page and the current auctions there’s the XKR 5.0 Supercharged that looks like a good example. Except it hasn’t received a single bid.

Are they that unloved? AFAIK they’re not particularly unreliable, but perhaps are a bit behind the times, even when originally released as a development of the previous XKR but to see a supercharged V8 two seater sports car with no bids at all seems strange. Surely a car like that, brawn and beauty should be in demand in these increasingly electrified days? What gives?

Not sure the reason but a lot of the 5.0 supercharged jags seem to be hanging around. There have been examples of XKR, XKRS and XFRS on autotrader that have been for sale for over a year.

Probably much to do with how skint the vast majority of people are and feel.

I don't think they are unloved , like similar cars they have simply to a certain extent fallen out of fashion . Even when they were new the X150 inhabited a relatively small marketplace and in my humble opinion they are a complete bargain for the money . The best are still attracting strong money often the equivalent of the Astons of the same period . Having owned both I think the Jaguar is the better car .
It wasn't released as a development of the previous X100 , it was a completely new design constructed entirely differently and because of this method of construction is a far better buy secondhand than the X100 . None of the dreaded box sections for a start and any bodges or repairs pertaining to the Bodywork are relatively easily spotted . Its my belief that they are in demand amongst those that appreciate them . Its also my belief that you won't run one of these Cars on a shoestring and sadly as they lose value many attempt to do so . That said once you are on top of the maintenance not very much goes wrong . Spares are relatively easily obtainable and nowhere near the price of Aston or indeed Porsche . If you are intent on purchasing one then make use of the various Forums and Clubs , after almost 20 years they are still a very attractive looking car so don't be seduced into buying the first one you view if indeed you are in the market for one ?

I suspect in the current climate its a £15k car on a good day so its reserve in my view is way too high

The top tax bracket can become tiresome [£695 now a days], but a lot of 'normal' cars fall into the £3/400 bracket so the difference isn't exactly huge. I doubt tax is the reason people wouldn't buy a car such as an XKR. Fuel, tyres, parts etc can be more of an issue.

I've currently got my S-Type R up for sale [yes, same top tax bracket] and have thought about the Pistonheads auction. Doesn't seem a lot of cars reaching the reserve though, so not sure?!
