Hi,

I noticed this morning some standing water in the scuttle (think that's what it's called) of my Zafira (on the right-hand side as you look at it).

Would this likely indicate a blocked drain somewhere (unsure where the drain is and where it comes out!), and could this be a reason why our air blower has stopped working in the last week or so? Could both be related?

Many thanks.

Most likely there is a drain hole or two that's become blocked, and it's indeed flooded - probably where the motor for the fan lives too! Id whip off the plastic trim and find the drain holes as quick as you can.

Had this on my 6 series last year and it led to wet carpets!

There should be a rubber 'sock' or plastic trap with a door on it behind the engine somewhere that is probably blocked with leaves. Unfortunately if you can see the water it's probably already overflowed into the car.

Thanks both, I'll have a look when my wife is back tonight.

It's been raining today and she said the rain hasn't pooled where it was this morning.
Our air blower stopped working last week and took it into the garage on Monday and they identified it was broken and I'd have thought after the rain we had on Sunday (a months rain in a day) they'd have noticed if the footwell or fan was wet when they inspected.

Regardless, I never knew these drains existed in cars so something to investigate this evening.

Just been out to have a look. Popped some water on the windscreen and the left hand side ran fine but had lots of debris, the right was backing up as I saw this morning.

Popped a pipe cleaner down and the water dissipated. Took out the debris catcher (in search for better words) and gave them a clean and both seem to be working fine. Hopefully it was just a blockage at the surface but doesn't seem like it's been backing up. Inside both footwells are dry.

I need to give it a good clean but at least that's a potential issue fixed.
