Does anyone know the detail of what the council pillocks have been up to? From what I’ve read they bought in an “equal pay for equal work” policy though the jobs they were trying to equalise were very different and as a result were generally done by different sexes. These jobs were also remunerated differently including bonuses to bin men (that label should have set alarms ringing) that weren’t available for the jobs culturally done by women and rather than lift women to the same terms and conditions tried to brush this under the carpet. Not sure if this is accurate but if so they would appear to been hoist by their own equalities petard.
