911UK.com - is it broken?
Discussion
Thanks yes it's all back up and running this morning so all good.
So many of these forums seem to be disappearing in favor of Facebook groups which I don't think work anywhere near as well but I'm an old luddite.
I have always found the 911.com 993 forum very useful although it seems a lot less active these days which worried me as I thought perhaps they had closed it down.

I tried to join it a few years ago and found it almost impossible to log in so I gave up and forgot about it.
The security questions were almost impossibly difficult to answer. It was almost comically bad.
That's good to know. The security questions were almost impossibly difficult to answer. It was almost comically bad.
I thought it was just me.
You guys had to pay more attention in the back row in order to tacke those difficult questions! ;-)
But seriously, it would be a great loss if 911uk dissapeared. I also agree that a forum is the best platform for knowledge sharing and discussion. Although I do get the feeling they're a dying breed.
I'd forgot about this forum until someone here pointed me in its direction.
I tried logging in but said username or password not recognised. I then tried resetting my password but noting came throught, so tried joining again but said my email or username was already in use. So I emailed an admin but nobody has gotten back to me.

Having a 993 I’ve always enjoyed the 911UK forum and it’s been a source of good advice. I agree that traffic has slowed, I presumed, as the regulars cashed in on the 993 C2s and C4s cars which they stopped driving as values increased.
That leaves us owners with high mileage cars who drive them in any weather and do track days.
Anyway I encourage people with 993s to join. Post the tricky questions here and we can share the pain

The 993 crowd of ten years ago were a great group to hang out with.
Its all moved on, and the cars have become un drivable, due to their value. I had a 93 C2 manual, paid £17k for it, and a C4S I paid £7k for, and a 964 C2 manual I paid £10k for, and there were several guys with similar.
A completely different crowd now.

I've had an incredible amount of difficulty registering and then re-logging in.I tried logging in but said username or password not recognised. It's also not responsive (mobile friendly) which is at least 5 if not 10 years out of date at this point. On my own website, 90% of traffic is mobile, sometimes a lot more.

Rubbish. Also saw a 964 tintop driving about today as well. I even use mine to do a part-time delivery job. Pays for the cocaine and hookers. I can still say that, right?

I suspect if you were to find yourself in the vicinity of the Bicester Heritage Centre this coming Sunday morning, that notion may well be dispelled.Orangecurry said:
