2017 DB11. Drivers side (left side, USA) window is acting up. Based on what I've read, a reset may fix it. I've tried the "hold the button down" procedure to no avail. I've also read that pulling the fuse and then resetting may work. My research (which could be wrong, you never know) says that the fuse is in the fuse box in the rear. Where EXACTLY is this fuse box and how do you get to it? An hour of internet research did not provide an answer.

If anyone has any other suggestions on resetting the window, I would love to hear them too.

TIA

I had a problem with my driver's door window on my 2018 DB11. It is a LHD. My problem started when I unplugged the harness to the door when changing out the door hydraulic strut. When plugging everything back in the window would go all the way up when button was held, then drop halfway down.

I tried numerous times to follow "typical" window reset procedures however, the window refused to reset and acting in the mode of the safety feature, where if an object interferes with close, the window drops back down to the halfway position. I tried pulling the fuse to reset the door...no joy. I actually disconnected the battery and did a complete "hard reset" still no joy.

Convinced I probably had a defective door control module, and getting ready to make a dealer appointment, I tried one last time to reset it and this time it worked. The only difference in the last attempt is that after I lowered the window all the way and held the button for a couple of seconds, then raised the window all the way...this time I held the button for a very long time (like 15 or 20 seconds). When I released it this last time the window held and has been functioning correctly ever since then (about a month now).

One last message - if/when you disconnect the battery and all modules in the car reset, you lose a few things that are customary to most cars and an additional quirk just to Astons. You will lose transmission adaptations (no problem, it relearns) and you'll lose LTFTs (again, no problem as it will relearn). Finally just to Aston (And apparently still an issue with the 5.2L V12) you will lose misfire learns. After everything was well again I noticed a number of stored misfires (P0300s, P0305. P0303, P0307) I cleared those with a scan tool then did the "classic" 70mph drive and coastdown to 20mph w/o shifting or braking. That did relearn the misfires. Now all is good again.

Here is a pic of the rear (main) fusebox located under the rear passengers seat. The driver's door fuse on my LHD is the arrowed fuse shown in the pic. Hope this helps.

The window reset on the AM platform cars with Mercedes parts is not the usual one.

"1. Start and run the engine.
2. Make sure that all of the doors are closed.
3. Operate the left side front window to its fully open position and wait two seconds before you release the switch (Note: When the switch is released in the step that follows, the window glass will drop approximately 25 mm, then repeat this step).
4. Operate the left side front window to its fully closed position and wait two seconds before you release the switch (Note: When the window reset procedure is correct, the window glass will not drop, but it will stay closed).
5. Operate the right side front window to its fully open position and wait two seconds before you release the switch (Note: When the switch is released in the step that follows, the window glass will drop approximately 25 mm, then repeat this step).
6. Operate the right side front window to its fully closed position and wait two seconds before you release the switch (Note: When the window reset procedure is correct, the window glass will not drop, but it will stay closed).
7. If the reset procedure is correct, the one-touch function will operate. If it is not correct, repeat the window reset steps again."

Obviously this is for both windows but it does not act like a normal reset. Source: my Gaydon contact

If this fails it needs a new window regulator. It is not uncommon shall I say.

Hi prairebronze,

I hope you report back with any progress you've made in resetting the window.

Also, if you would please, comment on following the instructions to reset the window posted herein.

As I mentioned I finally was able to reset my driver's door window after a battery interrupt, however, the process was laborious and failed a number of times. I was first interpreting the instructions one way, then another. It appeared, in my case, that only when I held the final "UP" position for a much longer time, did the reset work. Long story short, I am unsure at this point whether that finally reset the window module, or I followed a different sequence in the written instructions.

Also, I want to thank Ninja59 for these instructions. It is somewhat different than most typical window resets.

hi everyone. the driver side window of my DB11 was playing up, with the window failing to drop a couple of centimetres when the door was opened and then failing to raise a couple of centimetres when the door was closed. I searched this forum and others and found a workaround for a DB9 that did not work. finally someone responded to me on FB forum with a fix - here it is for anyone who needs it:

1. enter car and close all doors
2. switch on power (i.e. on button but don't press break to start ignition)
3. open window then keep holding the switch when the window is down for another 30+ seconds (note the workaround for earlier models used 5 or 15 seconds but I held it down for around 35 seconds and it works)
3. then close window and keep holding switch when window fully closed for another 30 odd seconds
4. repeat procedure
5. issue should now be fixed as electronics memory is "reset"

hope this helps someone
