Hi all,

For some reason today on the way home I couldn't use the second cam, rev limiter kept kicking in at 6k rpm, even with the dash showing a temp of 86C after an hours drive, any ideas?

Could it be a sensor loose (although the dash still knows the engine was up to temp)?

regards
Rob

A friend had the same problem on his 111R Bob.

I cant remember exactly what the problem but it is a dealer fix so get it back to them asap.

I believe it can be one of 2 things.
1.) there is a fuse that controls one of the signals that allow the engine to come "on cam"
2.) Low oil pressure. Due to low oil level. You can still oil on the dipstick, some engines are more suseptable to this than others.

Bob,

Had the same issue with my car; turned out to be water in the head around the spark plug. Problem only arose wehn the engine go really hot and the water became steam.

How the water got in thre - I'll never know.

Check it out.

come on then, what was it? You cannot keep us all in suspence any longer, or was it embarrasing, like a Big Mac stuck under the loud pedal?
