My 5yo daughter goes utterly bonkers if we put her in the back seat alone, and my wife gets car sick there, so if we go out we have to bring a friend/another driver or hire one of those MPVs with driver with captain armchairs in the back. Not ideal.

Apart from the excellent Fiat Multipla are there any other options?

Thanks.

VW Caravelle. Unimog.Ford F100 pickup. Peugeot 504 pickup. Those are all I can speak of from my experience, it seems I’ve had a fair bit of bench action!

Maclaren F1? One of the little carsized transits I think it's called a transit connect.

Maclaren fits the bill very well I think.

How long until this thread is moved?

Ooh good one. Never realised they were that configuration.

We’ve already looked/enquired about HRV. Non were three seaters up front.

Caravelle too big, Transits too industrial/big.

F1. Hmm.

I'd never put a young child in the front of a car.

The car seat was affixed in the rear in the middle of the car.

Back in the day we had loads of cars with bench seats in the front with column mounted gear changes.

The Matra Bagheera was a neat 3seater.

Yeah, easiest solution is to sort the kid out. Can you use one of the dog shock collars? Don’t let the tail wag the dog….

Something huge and american?
Dodge Ram?

Go classic french - Matra-Simca Bagheera

McLaren F1 - so com darling, you need the 1966 Ferrari 365 P Berlinetta Speciale

Didn't toyota do an early Renaut Espace lookalike with 3 seats in the front?

The answer is obvious anyway, have another child to keep this one company in the back, or a dog.

Dog eats children. Problem solved.

There have been a few mentions of the F1. Why is that? It doesn’t actually have a bench seat does it?

At least the passenger seats are set back slightly. Not sure it would be much good for the run to Waitrose.

Does your daughter have some form of mental issue causing this? I'm sorry, I don't mean offence with that question but not sure how else to put it. Going utterly bonkers in the back seat of a car is not normal behaviour and I would be wanting to deal with that problem rather than changing cars.

Surely, trying to help her with her difficulty is preferable to treating the symptom?

Are you hoping that the issue will go with age?

Whatever the case, surely it's not good to acceptable behaviour - I can't imagine dealing with the issue by changing cars is the right way to handle this, although - granted - it would be an easy fix.

Old style ford Galaxy with 7 seats.

Put your daughter in the back row and take out all the middle row of seats.

She should be so far back then you can't hear her going bonkers.

Full size 4x4 and sit your daughter in the middle seat? Loads of room and visibility from the middle of something like an FFRR or Q7
