Anyone know when this is on again this year, I missed the first meeting at Doune and would like to go upto the second running.

Is their any websites that have a motorsport calender for events in Scotland like hillclimbs, races, sprints, rallies etc.

Thanks,

Stuart

Can't help on the dates, but I have been to a hillclimb there before and it is a really nice venue!

Next Doune is 17th/18th September, run by Lothian Car Club:

My club has a good event calendar and lots of other interesting stuff, links etc. Regularly updated.

Thanks for the links

I've been up a couple of times and it was always impressive seeing how fast they go up the hill on such a narrow track !

Some of the single seaters are almost glancing walls!!

I've never actually been to Doune but I once heard one of the SHC chaps saying that the quickest line at one of the turns is to brush the armco.

Cheers,

Eric

Ali - you at work?

Yeah some of those single seaters were awesome, the speed they carry through the corners and how close they came to the barriers was amazing!

Heres a couple of pics I took

Do you know what the fastest time was at the end of the day?

Martin Groves reset Graeme Wight jr’s track record by 2 hundreths to 36.48 –

Dino was second with a 36.85 - over 2 seconds quicker than he has ever gone there before.

I think GW will be resetting that record next year.........
This year has been purely a development year for him and the car. So many problems - heat, electronics etc - all development is being done in public on the hills.

Stuart, have you loaded the photos from Doune onto your website yet? Have you got any more of the Nicols? (Caterham, the one with the helmets on the bonnet)

Detective Ali says it's Melvyn Hartley in his Autotune Gemini.

Clue was in the no.57.
