This isn’t a thread about ULEZ, there are others already.

On social media I have recently seen a huge increase of groups showing all the protests going on regarding ULEZ, the wales 20mph limit and all manner of “anti car” policies: if the groups are to be believed (questionable!) then the ULEZ cameras and vans are being vandalized as quickly as they are put up. Videos of vans being hounded out of suburbs by large groups of angry residents and the cameras being cut down are seemingly all over social media.

Yet not seeing anything on mainstream media (BBC, Sky etc)

Have I missed it? Or are they not covering this civil disobedience for another reason. The Just Stop Oil protests were on every news program.

Cheers all !

Because a few wingnuts shouting loudly about it on Facebook/Nextdoor/Friends Reunited (and dog whistling about stuff that is tangentially related in their YouTube-addled brains) does not mean there’s about to be a revolution.

This.

We definitely needed a 9th thread about ULEZ.

A small handful of thickos holding placards and running around at night with angle grinders is not going to make the news in a city of 9m people.

The anti-ULEZ mob seem keen to paint themselves as a modern day Robin Hood or Guy Fawkes, while they sit around their Bromley mock-Tudor semi, watching GBNews and ranting about 5G and facial recognition.

It's been that way for a long time.

If something is agreeable to the media / establishment narrative and govt / corporate interests it gets lots of airtime and spun as positively as they can.

If it doesn't suit the establishment narrative they ignore it until it gets too big to ignore, and then portray it as a small group of fringe loonies. Often followed by attempts to discredit and de-platform any high profile figures giving a public voice to the issue.

Of course, plenty of protests actually are just a small group of fringe loonies hehe which makes it harder to read into unless you have more direct information.

Because the vast majority of people don’t care. Pistonheads only represents a small percentage of the population, which is the 40+ year old, English, educated and middle-upper class male who leans right-wing to far-right politically.

Just like how Mumsnet is the same for women, and how Twitter represents either some kind of crazy radical left communism ideals OR radical right “kill them all” mentality.

Thank goodness for the voice of reason instead of the usual juvenile comments.

It's either 'A' an absolutely massive, global conspiracy by all mainstream media actors to silence specific groups of people or it's 'B', just not important enough even to displace 'cat up tree' stories on a daily basis and the participants have a very false sense of self worth.

Personally, I fervently believe that the nanobots in the forced vaccines have kicked in and via their 5G communication are now controlling their hosts. The only hope remaining for society is a rag tag group of freedom fighters who saw this coming and have formed elite guerrilla groups across the U.K. fighting back against the machine. Although it is possible that I might be wrong and its just a bunch of unemployed tts with no life who just have to make up a fantasy world to try and deal with the fact they chose to not focus at school and then couldn't be arsed to graft in pretty rubbish jobs like the millions of honest, hard working people they decide to insult and denigrate by calling 'sheeples', the battlecry of the professional loser at life.

Oh, and the London ULEZ is covered pretty much every other day at the moment on the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/search?q=ULEZ+&seqId=8cc...

As is the Welsh fiasco: https://www.bbc.co.uk/search?q=Wales+20mph&seq...

You're in Asia?

And you live in New Zealand.

Stop and have a look around, and you'll realise that the BBC is one of the most trustworthy news sources on the planet. There is no conspiracy, there is no anti-ULEZ revolution going on in Greater London which the media is suppressing. Everyone except a few dozen protestors are getting on with life.

If ever there was a good example of the need to step away from social media for your information...
