I am trying to buy a new charcoal activated pollen filter for my Renault Master van.
EAN 8636001124470 , seems to be described as 3f quality 640. It is out of stock everywhere in the UK (even the local main Renault dealer said they couldn’t get one!).
Found one on eBay Italy but that works out over £70, so anyone have any ideas where I might find one?

Looks like this:

I have ‘made’ a temporary one from a cooker hood filter but it doesn’t have the plastic frame so is a bit of a bodge.

Which year/generation of Master?

They were also badged as Vauxhall Movano and Nissan Interstar/NV400 so you might be able to find the equivalent from those manufacturers.

It is the mk2 facelift from 2008. The same filter is fitted to facelift Movano A, Nissan Interstar and Renault Mascott.
Can't find it in stock anywhere except the expensive Italian eBay listing.

Could you not buy a larger one and cut it to fit?

I have made one from a cooker hood filter. The issue is that it has a plastic surround which is not rectangular or square and needs to be correctly shaped to clip into the ducting.

Just use the same plastic surround & glue the "element" in with Tigerseal.

Unfortunately I don't have the old surround, the van came with it missing. I guess the previous owner couldn't find a replacement so just binned the dirty old one.

I would think the best chance would to be find a dealer with one sat on the shelf.

Maybe try and get the local dealer to furnish you with the part number, try and cross ref it to get the Nissan / Vauxhall part numbers and then start contacting dealers, especially long standing ones.

I`ve still got a decent couple of contacts in the Nissan world so if you can post up the part number I`ll try and help.

ML regularly sell stuff they don't have. Usually telling you after you've paid and are waiting. And only then, if you inquire.

It's infuriating.

"3F Quality" is apparently a Chinese parts maker. In this case it's their number "640" filter type (there are others).
...but that's just one maker of filters.

Looking around at Renault Master II van pollen filters for 2009 (because I wanted to avoid the changeover model year) I see loads of other patterns and most aren't the shape you linked a picture to.

So, I'd like to know: is this definitely the shape you need?
Most I've seen claim to fit and are rectangular (and yes, these are cabin pollen air filters for that model of van).

I'd imagine the answer will be "yes, you muppet, the dealer cannot supply one" but just want to be clear.

Looking at partsouq I can't even see where you'd put a cabin filter.

Yes that is definitely the shape I am after. It apparently sits just inside the duct running through the firewall, it is fitted in from the engine bay side. There is a sort of ridge in the duct for the filter to fit against.
