They have welded my manifold with the best bit of welding I have ever seen, and charged me....... £10 !!!!!!!
Feck me. PLEASE USE THEM!!!!!

I now have to re fit and wonder what you think of using silicone in the joints to help it, and if so, where to get it from.

Glad to see you are chuffed with your manifold, having fettled my exhaust recently I used a simple exhaust jointing paste. Does it for me, simple to use and cheap as chips.

did you use the paste on your manifold Steve? I have a small pin hole but thought the paste wouldn't work because of the heat..

Hiya mate, the paste is really only good for joints, i.e. manifold, or manifold to down pipes, basically where there is a join in the exhaust system, it is just like a heat resistant void filler. If you have a small hole best get it welded, it shouldnt be to expensive and you probably will have to remove the offending piece of exhaust.

it is a small hole (pin sized) where the 3 pipes go into the cone part of the manifold.... don't know anything about welding so didn't know that this may be an option..

bit awkward to get a plate on it though..

If it is that small, it might not need a plate. It could be filled with the weld. As long as it is visable, and you can get a mig torch in, it might be worth a go....

Yeh I agree with stamp, if the rest of the metal is good then a small weld to cover the hole would do the job, I only thought about removing that part of the exhaust for safety reasons, especially when welding, unless they can put some form of heat blanket behind the torch.
