Has anyone had issues renewing their Royal Mail postal redirect?

We got our renewal through so I've gone to their website and gone through the process, but it says payment has been declined. However, when I check my bank I can see the payment was made and then quickly reversed. Normally if payment is declined I get notified via the banking app. I've tried another card and even that didn't work.

I've rang and spoke to someone who tried to take payment again, it failed, and she said that it's because my billing address is incorrect. It's not, the billing address I've given them is the same billing address that all of my bank accounts are registered against. When we went to try it again, their secure line wasn't picking up my bank card details as I was typing them, so I've got to ring them back another time.

I want to renew the redirect, but I can't do it online and it doesn't seem I can do it over the phone either.

Don’t know, but (I doubt it) can you pay in cash in a post office?

You have to pay cash if you're buying 'stationary' for example - I was behind a guy the other day at my local PO, they wouldn't accept card for an A4 envelope so he had to withdraw a tenner from their cashpoint in order to buy the envelope. Though the ~£3 postage he could use card for... Absolutely illogical.

I’m guessing it was not the post office selling the envelopes, bonkers situation

I don't understand it honestly, they just say they 'can't accept card payments for stationary', but they can for the actual postage... So 20 quids worth of padded envelopes for example paid with £1 coins, then £3 to send a letter you can pay by contactless debit card rolleyes

I'm going to pay by post with a cheque.

All I need to do now is find a cheque book. Not used one in years.
