We picked this to watch as Ruth Wilson is in it, and can't see a thread for it. We are 4 in of 6 - Mrs really likes it (she went to a convent school and does not have high opinion on some of the nuns she encountered) but for me the first couple episodes are uncomfortably dark. However when it starts answering the questions it becomes really good. Will finish tonight - looking forward to it.

Not one for a romantic night in though.

After the first episode, I wasn't too sure about it and stuck with it and glad I did as it got better as it went on.

Agreed on the first episode. Watched it with the wife and we decided to kick it to the kerb but I ended up leaving episode 2 running when she went off to bed and found myself drawn into it. Really good, really strong TV. The fact you know there is a great degree of truth behind the storyline makes it particularly hard-hitting.

The scene in episode 5 (I think) in the pub when the pisshead comes into the private function area and your woman launches into a diatribe of great detail about her experience makes for pretty powerful watching. I think it's up there with one of the most emotive scenes around in a long time. Worth watching the series for that scene alone.

We watched it as it was shown on BBC 1 as we’re big Ruth Wilson fans too.
Dark story, with intertwining threads about Church and state power in the ROI. We really enjoyed it.

Very small PH point-although it depicted events in the Republic, judging by the road signs and markings it was actually shot in the North

Finished it - mighty pleased I did to. Very emotional. Probably 6/10 at the start, definite 9/10 at the end.

Ruth Wilson is really rather good.
