My wife would like to stay in London in Christmas new year gap

2 nights
Good view from room, ideally Thames

350 a night max

Any suggestions, the shard came to mind but is too expensive

Anyone recommend an air b and b

I’m determined to get out of the dog house!

just got back from a weekend at Malmaison Farringdon, not very high but lovely view of Charterhouse Square and great for transport.

Booked last minute and was about £220 for a deluxe room.

Sorry realised you said a view of the Thames

Tower hotel- St Katherine’s dock

Great view of tower bridge and right next to the Thames .

Not sure how good the hotel rooms are though anymore.

Hopefully been refurbished

We're booked in at the Sunborn Yacht Hotel on Dec 16th for the Ministry of Sound Classical at the O2. Not stayed yet so cannot directly recommend it yet, but does look like a novel place to stay.

My mum and dad stayed onboard a few years ago, enjoyed it, take the cable car over the river to the 02, great views.

My now wife used to come and visit me before she moved over to London and we stayed here a few times. Would second, generally great views. The jazz bar and sushi restaurant were always highlights too.

Your other shout, Sea Containers, is a good one too.

There's a Novotel near Harbour Exchange (which is near Canary wharf). It's about 50 floors tall and there's a great rooftop bar. I preaume there are good views from the higher floors. I would also expect it to be affordable as its just on the edge of the desireable areas - without actually being in a grotty area
