I challenged a parking ticket recently and had the following back in response:

"I have managed to find that your vehicle has a 'No Ticket, No Tow' added to it before the vehicle was issued this PCN, CEOs are not always able to verify this on their hand held device. I have considered your appeal and find that there are sufficient grounds for the cancellation of the Penalty Charge Notice. The notice has been cancelled and no further action is required."

I'm not entirely sure why my reg had/has this marker - is it temporary? Permanent? Given that the PCN's been cancelled I'm keen to let sleeping dogs lie and not query with the council - I wondered if anyone might know why it's on my reg?

You'd expect that if there was some sort of 'marker' that could be added to that effect that it would be added after the 'CEO' had done their bit and could only be noticed before sending out a PCN by whoever does that (presumably admin staff in a council office or similar). Maybe if the 'CEO' realised he'd made a mistake and could then add a marker to say 'take no action'.

Smacks of them messing it up but not being willing to just say 'we made an error'.

Brighton and Hove? They have a "No Ticket, No Tow" system for EU blue Badge holders that do not have a UK blue badge.

You beat me to it, I was going to suggest it could be registered as a "blue badge" holder's car.

What was the reason for you original challenge?
