Nothing much in the PH Good grub guide above.

Any recomendations that we could check out ?
Will be Friday afternoon in a couple of weeks.
Nothing fancy, gourmet burger, steakhouse, Italian sort of thing.

Gordon Ramsey Street burger and option ? anyone been.

Always dubious of online reviews. Leaping from 1 star to 5.
Real life reviews always better.

Thanks in advance.

We went to the Port House on the Strand for Tapas last week, it's tiny and dark but the food was wonderful.

I'd second the Cafe Murano suggestion. 6 of us on a round table pre-theatre. Very quiet, for proper chatting, very calm and friendly.

It got a bit tight for time, so skipped desserts. So allow even more than 90 minutes if there's a few of you, and some of you are dithering.

This place is really nice and sensibly priced for central London.

Fatt Pundit and Dishoom a good shout if you like Indian/Indian/Chinese fusion. Lots of small plates so good options for sharing. I love Fatt Pundit but will say I visited the Covent Garden one a few months after it opened and it wasn't as good as their original site. Not bad, but just a bit lacking. Dishoom is pretty much always consistent everywhere. Try and book either as it'll be a long wait otherwise. Would also recommend Tandoor Chop House, near Charing Cross so a bit quieter than being bank on Covent Garden. Excellent food, been several times, nice relaxed atmosphere.

Blacklock is very good as well, have been here also. Bodeans is also right nearby if you fancy BBQ (avoid Big Easy, it's terrible).

I was quite impressed by Flat Iron a couple of weeks ago. Really good value and decent steak for the price.

I'd go for this, it's a while since I've been though. Bit of an institution.

Hawksmoor 7 dials. My default steakhouse. Love their meat from the Ginger Pig butchers. Great burgers as well.
