Stunning looking car inside and out. £65k with a couple of hours to go......surely has to be well north of £70k or else it's a total bargain.

I just can't fathom why the seller doesn't engage more and answer the questions, all of which are reasonable. Its a big enough risk as it is buying at auction, a lot will be bidding having not viewed the car and if the seller can't even be bothered to answer basic questions it's not going to do the sale price any favours......

I may be missing something, but there doesn't appear to be any statement or invoices for any services carried out between the car hitting the road in April 2017, and the first documented service in July 2020 at 10k miles.

Unsold at £70k high bid, which would equate to a £75k purchase price.

Median for that car on AT would probably be around £85k asking. However knock off £3-5k for an actual selling price, then another £5k or so for the difference between buying from a dealer with comeback and buying sight unseen from an auction, plus the apparent gap in early service history, and I think the high bid feels about right.

Arguably the best colour for that car.

Stunning looking car …how the hell does it not have full service history? Yeah I’d probably want it at a good discount for that reason alone.

You would have to be mad to by a supercar with no service history.
The saving in buying price could be outweighed x 10 with potential bills

Service history is odd - but I'd expect a McL dealer would be able to look up the full history if they failed to mention it (Toyota did it for me over the phone on an auction car).

But why go to all the hassle of putting it on CC, putting a rubbish description in, not bothering to respond to queries, and then setting an overoptimistic reserve? The seller must realise it would be at least £15k under market with the fees taken into account unless they've been offered a trade in and just wanted to see if it would fetch more on CC.

Still, it will stand out when it appears again in a few weeks, and it does look lovely.

This ended at 54k unsold - not sure what the owner wanted from it

£54K is insane, no wonder it didn't sell but also shows the state of the market as well

This got to 61k the last time I checked at 20 mins to go and went unsold.

Market is very low on bids at the moment.

£63,111 was the high bid, equating to a true price of £67,655 after fees.

Mileage at 44k is quite a bit higher than any car on AT
The ad declares "corrosion on the front wheel arches"
There is no mention of nose lift in the ad
The rear wing is aftermarket
It's an early car

Considering the above, £67k as an auction sale doesn't look that low compared to the cheapest car on AT, on 32k miles as a private sale with 6 months McLaren warranty remaining, advertised for £74k so could change hands for a few grand under that.

Good points.

Feel like these lower end cars are back where they were at the beginning of COVID

It went on the block today again, sold for 60k, I would think the owner wishes he took the highest bid from last time....

Just indicative of where the market is going. Cheap finance at both dealer and private buy have gone.
