Travel insurance issue

We are going to NYC soon, we are taking out three kids (all in their twenties) and their girlfriends, however my youngest and his GF live in Frankfurt (since March) but he is having an issue getting Travel insurance in Germany as he is not a german citizen and has a British passport and cant really book it from the UK as he doesn't live here and isnt his permanent residence.

Any suggestions as cant really travel without insurance seeing as one small issue in the US would mean selling the house to pay for a laster cast and some paracetemol !

Can he get it through his German bank or credit card provider? When we lived in Germany we had travel insurance through HypoVereinsBank as part of our annual fee.

How permanent is his living situation in Germany? I had the same issue this year being in Netherlands but I’m on a 1 year secondment and just used my parent’s address in the UK (where my cards are also registered too) and was able to get cover no issue. Obviously had I needed to use it, I would have been repatriated to the UK.

If he has travelled from the UK to Germany recently, he may be able to take out “already travelling” insurance

He has a permanent job there, probably best to just use our address, cant be a unique situation !
