Not sure if many know about the M3 CSL left for years in a private covered car park but it's been rescued.

Agreed.

In the article it said the 'registration expired in 2006'.

Since when have any UK registrations 'expired'?

I remember the original pics when this was "found", are we sure it's been legitimately recovered? Seems slightly convenient it was discovered and then saved within such a short space of time having been sat for so long.

Well, they also called it 'The Holy Grail of BMWs' which it hardly is - I wouldn't take anything written on The Drive as 'Gospel'.

Generally it is regarded to be one of the best BMW's ever made, but every one has an opinion. Where would you rank it and and what do you think is the best or top 3?

Got to be up there realistically.

I guess a lot of this stuff is US-facing so 'expired MOT/tax' gets condensed to 'expired registration'.

Oh absolutely it's up there (even more so given what BMW are churning out now, though if I were settling for 2 pedals it would be E92 GTS) - more the point I was making that expecting a story on The Drive to be accurate or anything other than attention-grabbing clickbait is foolhardy. This was more aimed at posters querying The Drive's interesting claims about the registration of the car etc.
