Lots of chat about the process but how long have you waited since you registered interest, what are you waiting on and do you still check in with your AD?

Oh I've largely given up. Omega, Grand Seiko or Breitling will be my next purchase.

Been waiting over a year for an Air King. However, I've never chased it up and not really that fussed either

Too many variables here!

Depends the dealer, depends the watch, depends on your history.

I've had a sub, a yachtmaster, a GMT, a seadweller and a datejust in the last 18 months. Also had some Cartier and Brietling stuff from the same chain.

You’ve had four new sports watches in the last 18 months, which dealer?

I was on the list for two and a half years for a Milgauss then it ceased production, so no joy there! Been waiting a year for a blue datejust for my son.

20 mins for my Yachtmaster. Went in to put my name down and they offered me one there and then. Just lucky I guess.

I’ve kind of gone off the idea now really - spent the money on some art instead.

I only really started getting Rolex watches in 2020. I usually wait for a while but not ridiculously long times. Since starting I've had a James Cameron Deep Sea, Daytona steel white face, Daytona steel black face, GMT2 Batman, GMT2 Root Beer. The longest wait was the white Daytona which probably took 7 or 8 months I think.

Had a bit of history with Watches of Switzerland before the JCDS but not too crazy, 2 IWC's and a Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos clock I think was the sum total of my history until the first Rolex.

I don’t think WOS care what you have purchased as long as they have had your money, some would call it corrupt

WoS Glasgow. Also bought 2 Cartiers and a Brietling from their other boutiques, no idea if this helped my cause.

I called into Goldsmiths (Trafford Centre) around 18months ago to go on the “list” for a Submariner. The guy I dealt with was not even slightly interested tbh & I concluded he was probably doing Wordle on his little iPad as he supposedly input my details. I’ve gone off the idea of the Sub now so will pass on it if I “get the call” & will definitely not be pulling any triggers.

I think ive said about this already, but last year I was at the Victoria and Albert Rolex dealer in Capetown, the person I spoke to said a minimum of 6 years was the waiting list. They are also priced similar to uk prices as well, even at 23r to the pound, poor buggers over there buying them are fleeced. Looking online second hand ones are a lot cheaper than uk ones, ill be there in August, I might go hunting.

Year and a half for a Milgauss.. then when I heard it was being discontinued I went down for an AirKing or DJ.

5 months went by, then my wife needed a few diamond for an old ring of her grand mothers. Use the same jeweler then magically my AirKing appeared a few weeks later hehe

The WOS stock price is nose diving same as the inflated grey market and overpriced second hand flippers, maybe if they sold everyone a new Rolex who wanted one they wouldnt be in such a mess

Two years waiting for a 36mm Explorer. Just called them last month to say I'd prefer the 40mm. Who knows how long it will be. I could be dead :-)

But where would the ADs get these Rolexes from? It's not like the diamond or oil markets, where there is ample supply but the market pricing is controlled by a small cartel of players who control the rate of release onto the market. Rolex build and ship as fast as they can, and already make over a million watches a year.

What would be the point in spending tens/hundreds of millions building more factories and training up new staff to work in them, when the only outcome would be to crash the demand for your product and render the new factories and staff useless?
