Any (true) bargains to be had.?

Looking for a new (large) powerbank for phone etc.

For use on multi day walks/camping.

The problem is (as has been said many times before) - 99% of them are not bargains at all.

By random chance, when we were in Costco the other day they had some Oral B toothbrushes on display, and the g/f announced she thought it was time she bought a new one. So I remember looking at the price, and I am 100% sure it was seventy something - let's be generous and say £79.99.

I just saw the same toothbrush as a lightning deal - 64% off no less. Which means it's........ £74.99.

No thanks.

There isn’t much of interest is there.

I did buy a 65W USB-C charger and hub as they were about a tenner cheaper than normal. Oh and some dog poo bags which I don’t think were any cheaper than the last lot I bought.

I just checked the 'hot' deals on some lego bits that my eldest has on his Christmas list but each one I checked on camelcamelcamel were not really discounted at all and had often been sold at cheaper prices regularly throughout the year.

So i have given up looking any further.

Bought an air fryer and a CTEK. Not huge savings but they were on my shopping list anyway.
Also looking for a cheap general purpose laptop if anyone has any suggestions!

xbox controllers are £10 more expensive today than yesterday and firestick 4k is now £59 instead of £34 because they have withdrawn the old one and released a new one.

I'm hoping to pick up a smart/health watch but can't decide of which one out of the 72 trillion types on offer.

Keepa is a great extension for displaying historic Amazon prices in a frame within the Amazon window...

Yep, a new airfryer was on the Christmas list, so either now or Black Friday are an opportunity. Under no illusions that there are huge discounts to be had, but hopefully close to the best prices I’ll see between now and Christmas and it’s a tick on the list

bought a nuki smart pro lock - £90 cheaper than the one I bought from amazon 2 weeks ago, returning the other unopened one tomorrow and pocketing the difference

All very dissapointing really. I have a few things in my shopping basket saved and nothing was reduced.

I picked up a new Alexa Dot because one of mine broke and I wanted ro replace it and I've bought a power bank for phone charging at a decent price.

I was hoping for a decent discount on a Ring home alarm system but no such luck, they are showing discounts but it's still the same price it was pre big deals day.

Lenovo have some good discounts at the moment, and the T14s AMD one looks good with 25% off, less than the equivalent Framework and should be a good workhorse. 32GB upgrade from 16GB is only £50 (and it is soldered), which is very reasonable. 256GB to 512GB SSD is also only a £10 upgrade.

I was looking at bone conduction headphones. Saw the Shokz ones were reduced for the prime deals days. Dithered about it because the only model that had onboard MP3 storage was the most expensive; the more reasonably priced one was bluetooth only so dither, dither, dither... in the mean time found other cheapy manufacturers offering similar stuff. Added the cheapy one to my basket... £65 with a 20% off voucher = £52. Midnight passed, Shokz deals all gone... and the cheapy one in my basket became £73 with a 40% off voucher = £44. So as far as I'm concerned, prime deals days appeared to be "prime pay an extra 18% days"!!

For the second time on Amazon deals days, most of my orders (4 out of 5) all seem to have gone missing after being sent out for delivery. If it's like last time, Amazon will eventually let me cancel the orders and then buy again at the current price...

Got a pair of the 2nd Gen echo buds with the Qi charging case for £44. I've been using the OG buds for a couple of years and was very happy with them, but they are a bit bulky (both buds and case) and the case used MicroSD only. The new buds and case are both noticeably more compact and the case offers USB-C as well as Qi charging - which I already use for my Phone and Kindle and have a few pads around the house. Very convenient, I wish more gadgets used it to charge.

Haven't tried them out yet as from my experience with the original buds, fitting the actual correct sized plugs for my lugs and 'tips' that help them sit in the ear is pretty fiddly and longwinded, so I'll give a go when I get some spare time at the weekend. All reviews point to even better sound quality though, so looking forward to finding out.
