Hot Start Cured

Had the hot start prob for over two months now and lost confidence with my Chim. Checked a lot of posts on a cure for this with the intent of fixing it once back off hols. The ususual things to check would have been either/or, or both the starter motor by renovating, replacing, or heatshielding or rewiring the battery feed with a kit. But after getting back off hols the battery was dead and couldnt be charged. So i replaced it with a brand spanker and hey presto no more hot start problem. I found that the dead batt was 5 years old and only 520 cranking amps, the new one was 580 . My thing is ( and now doubt i will get sent a lot of thread links to similar fixes ) but i had not found anyone who had cured this prob by checking the batt first. I am sure the other fixes make good sense and may be the issue in your car, but check the output and quality of your batt first it could save a lot of time. Smiles back and ime off out to stop and start again tommorrow.
