Submariner servicing

Rolex will probably want to replace anything with 'patina' with new parts, which you may not wish to proceed with, either in terms of 'look' or cost.
The secondhand market seems to be strong for 'original' pieces with 'nice' patina.
They will suggest it, but you don’t have to agree. My Dad’s old datejust has a loose jubilee bracelet as the links have stretched that they wanted to replace at some huge cost as it’s bi-metal. Declined, and they did the rest of the service with no issue. The secondhand market seems to be strong for 'original' pieces with 'nice' patina.
Conversely I had everything done on my sub when it was serviced, as it’s under 10 years old and going back to new appealed.
I had mine serviced last year via an AD - think it was around £800 including new glass and a replacement gold crown.

Guessing you can drop off and collect? My Datejust that was serviced about 4.5 years ago, the crown just got slightly stiff to wind. It still winds but feels stiffer than the other Datejust we have.We are based in the Jewellery Quarter Birmingham 80% of are work is Rolex, normal turn round time is 4/6 weeks

My last 2 services were both via Rolex and my local AD. Both about £800 each. The sting was that they took 4 months for 1 and slightly longer for the next. They were both date just models.
A good local indy charges about £300 and turns them around in less than a month so get on line and find a good indy nearby
