Rabea Massaad (Guirtarist)

Hi All,
Just wondering what everyone thinks about Rabea?
I find him to be very enlightening and educational, despite him not being "classically trained"

Bloomin' handy on the old axe too.
Cheers

i think he’s a really good player, definitely has his own style and sound which is not easy, saved this demo he did a couple of years back as just some fantastic playing and textures

When I used to watch Anderton's YT vids back in the day, I always thought Rabea was a more "complete" player compared to Chapman.https://youtu.be/76pQcwHgsOc?si=u_2PJPmrR7YUH7hX
O/T watching ^ that vid reminds me I need a Neunaber Seraphim pedal
I'm a big fan. He seems like a top notch guy and he has a fantastic attitude towards music, none of the pompousness that a lot of online personalities have fallen in to.
I've been enjoying his Neural DSP plug in, and with that, he's been the most consistent with uploading different presets/updates/videos demoing it. Not just releasing the product and forgetting about it whilst raking in the cash.

Some of his stuff is very interesting, some of it is a bit formulaic but that can be true of most guitarists i guess. I particularly like his work with Frog Leap on tour, some of the songs they cover are hilarious but he is definitely a talented musician, very good drummer too by all accounts.

My eldest was at school with Rabea.
In their final year at school, I attended an end of year performance where my son (plus other pupils) and Rabea performed in their individual capacity.
Rabea was an exceptional guitarist even then! (I think he must have been 16 at the time).
He blew our socks off!

There's a cover he did of Wicked Game with Hannah Boulton on vocals which is a firm re-watch favourite. It was originally done as a way to A/B an old Neve mixer with a plug-in emulation of the same, but they uploaded the performance on its own as it was so good.
Great stuff:
