Are you superstitious? or Triskaidekaphobic?

I have a friend who hates to see the number 13 on his car clock, so advances 1 minute every time it he sees it, to the effect that his car clock is always several minutes fast. An otherwise intelligent and rational human.

Also, two of our cats are black, which depending on ones belief, are either good luck, or bad luck. My rational is that by having two, they should cancel each other out. hehe

I think pseudo mumbo jumbo superstitions like this are nonsense. Then again I'm a Capricorn & we're naturally very sceptical.

Until I read the OP I did not know the word Triskaidekaphobic existed. So in a way I've had a little luck this Friday the 13th.

But I don't believe 'luck' can be affected by numbers on a calendar, the colour of your pet, or the order in which you put on your socks.

If you believe nonsense like this it can definitely have an impact on your life and therefore others, but that's down to them and their behaviour rather than some outside influence knowing the day and date. Seems a bit selfish and attention-seeking to me, so certain 'types' are usually in on this game. I don't do FB but can imagine some of the posts today smile

I know someone who was really superstitious about the number 13. She lived at number 14 in an apartment building with no number 13, so I used to make sure to take every opportunity to reminder her that she did technically live in the 13th flat hehe

The thing that always makes me laugh is airlines who don't have row 13 on their aircraft.

FFS, it's not as if one row of seats can crash while the rest of the flight carries on safely.

It's bonkers, but I'm not surprised. My mate is a lift engineer and apparently this is not uncommon.

On my street there is no number 13 house, after 11 it goes straight to 15. Weird, as whoever gave it a green light must've been a very supersticious.

Depends who or what you believe in terms of history.

There is a significant noted link to the Knights Templar (and any Masons of that chapter/order on here would attest) and their coordinated simultaneous arrest by agents of King Philip. The knights were later tortured into admitting heresy and other sacrilegious offenses and then executed.

That was Friday, October 13, 1307.

Whether coincidence or manufactured for the current day elements, thats for you to decide.

I owned and lived in house number 13 for 23 years.

During that time (and ever since) I've had both bad and good luck.

The apartment block that I live in currently doesn't have a number 13 - it's numbered 11,12,12A,14,15...

I guess the developers were superstitious.

Not bothered in the slightest. Walking under ladders though, don't do that or you will get paint on your head.
