In my local cinema this week:

Apparently. Really, are they this desperate? And are there people stupid enough to swallow it?

they are!

Apparently most british people think speed cameras work, they think this government are good enough to be voted back in so this is merely minor proof of the mass-stupidity of the UK.

It is indeed true. Pirate copies of DVDs etc are sold by organised crime through outlets such as those thieves' paradises known as 'car boot sales' or, more accurately, 'Sunday markets'.

The net result being that as studios etc lose their profit margin (yes, I agree it's too high!), the prices for legitimate DVDs, computer software etc increases.

Thank you for publicising the anti-piracy hotline phone number!

No doubt some part of the price you pay for petrol finds its way back to terrorists - what with many terrorists having Saudi origins, it is very realistic to think that some or a lot of their funding comes from oil revenue.

Thus, driving supports terrorism! In similar vein, going on holiday in a middle East country supports terrorism - doubly so, the plane uses fuel an every time you buy something there no doubt a percentage of what you spend finds its way back to terrorists, three or for stages later... Importing or exporting anything to Gulf/Middle East countries supports terrorism, I'm sure!

No doubt organised crime is into illegal DVDs and CDs, but any economic activity that is sensitive to fraud or involves islamic (or substitute your flavour of the day) countries may well or does subsidise terrorism, if you follow this contorted way of thinking. Indeed, music/film companies selling legitimate copies of their product into the middle East must, through the supply chain, fund terrorism at some level (maybe 3 or 4 intermediate parties deep, but still).

What b****x.

Never a truer word spoken in jest.

The EU are framing - it's taking time - legislation about a future crime called 'seditious libel'. Under this legislation it will be a crime for an EU citizen to say or write anything that harms the interests of the EU. The presence (or otherwise) of any harm in what you speak or write will of course be determined by...the EU.

Welcome to the jackboot future of the wonderful Federal Union of Neocommunist Totalitarian States.

Scarey stuff! Hope it doesn't come to that though, otherwise in future the history writers will compare Hitler's Nazi party to the Green party compared to how our authoritarian, strictly censored future may pan out!

This is a serious threat that is going to kill the film and music industry, just like it did when home taping came out! Wait... That didnt happen...

Could it be they are just pissed off that they are losing control over how they want their media distributed? That they cannot as easily tell their target market ("sheeple" what they want to buy?

Motorists support Al-Qaeda......

The majority of funding for islamic terrorists is disbursed via islamic charities. The major contributors to many of these "charitable" funds are known to be the House of Saud. The wealth obtained by the Saudi Royal family is mainly derived from oil revenue, therefore every time you fill up your evil car you are in effect funding terrorism........ what, with all the children we motorists willfully kill every year no wonder we're given such a hard time
