Nice one

My cerb is up for sale so I can buy the parts to build an R1 powered Mac#1. Same car pretty much.

I'm keeping my bike though.

Good luck, it sounds interesting.

A little smaller than the Ultima.

So I have picked up the engines.... yep as usual one is not enough.

Both engines are R1 units one is std and I heard it running in the car on sunday and then we stripped it out, the other is a buzzed modified unit which produced quite a bit more power than std (20-30bhp).

Basically I have purchased every bike related component from another running MK indy, thats engine, rad, entire car/engine loom, drive shaft & bits, clocks, gear change, tank etc.
should save me quite a bit of time on the build.

The only unknown is the buzzed engine, it was changed down instead of up on track, but apparently it still ran fine but didn't have any power above 8000rpm under load and sounded fine when just reving when stationary. It was replaced the next day without being run again...... my guess is at worst a bent valve or other valve gear problem.
But seeing as it was just chucked in with the deal I'm not that worried.

I also ordered the complete Kit from MK.

nah... I think 170-180bhp will be enough for this little project. With 450kgs wet its around 380-400bhp per ton.

I might have to be joining you both in an R1 powered venture soon. Im getting bored, and I have enough money, and no matter how hard I try, I can stop myself from ordering a kit soon.......
Im thinking along the lines of a R1 powered MK indy, so let me know what you think of the kit.

Now, I wonder if I could get that supercharger off our formula student car......
