Just a question, where does the speedo get it's pickup from? Mine has started playing up and not reading below 40 mph and Im guessing it's the sensor?

If it's not the speedo itself that is at fault, then the sensor from which it takes its reading is located at the drivers side of the Diff, sometimes it is mounted on the other side.

Sounds most likely, did this occur when you got the car back?

The sensor is mounted on the diff, look for the toothed wheel mounted inboard of the CV joint, the sensor is the cylindrical tube with two wires coming out the back. I suspect that the gap is too large, try reducing the distance between sensor and rotor teeth.

you might wanna take the time to make your hands and forearms triple jointed before you make the adjustment though. this will aid matters considerably.

No Russ, it reads all over the place at speeds less than 30 then fine from 35 upwards. I had a different diff fitted last week (tongue twister) while mine is refurbed and problem has arose since then. Cheers for info folks

It also reads 0 at standstill as expected.

If you've just had the diff replaced then it will definitely be that the sensor has been refitted incorrectly, it will just need positioning closer.

ps did the Emerald ecu make much differance to the cars performance or was it already on when you bought her?

Hi Simon,

Yes it made a very noticeable difference, power increased from 340bhp to 390bhp with the Emerald alone, a few other light mods have taken it to near 400bhp, driveability is much improved also. It is also a more flexible option for future tuning than ia available with the existing MBE unit.
