Hi Guys, just had 3 guys and 1 getaway driver attempt to steal our car off the drive, but scared them off. This was their get away car in picture below. As you can imagine, it all happened very fast and didn’t get a good look at them or their car but managed to get a pic of their car from our camera.

Would any of you guys recognise what car it might be so can give accurate details to the police whenever they follow up. It sounded high powered as it sped off like an automatic, petrol I6 or V6. Looks BMW to me? Have a partial number plate but I suspect its false or cloned. Thanks for any help to close the net on these scum.

Edited to add vid of them in process of stealing it. Apparently from googling it, you can steal a toyota rav 4 in under 2 minutes this way so lucky we caught them at it.

The mouthy one sure has a distinctive walk or limp, comical mannerisms and a clownish way of speaking.

Also in the video, see how when he starts the getaway car, the lights come on and are aiming high, then come low and then high again? Is that a feature of a particular car?

Don’t have much hope In police catching them or
Anything and Cant wait till daylight to see how much damage they have done to the bumper and the wiring. Cant have anything nice.

BMW 6 series 4 door.

It’s likely stolen too!

It's Ray Winstone.

Definitely a BMW, although I was thinking a 2-Series 4 door.

Any car with Xenons/LEDS will perform the lights on and up down of the headlights. The lights move to the highest position, then the lowest as a reference and set themselves according to the weight of passengers/load in the car - the angle of dangle. biggrin

It's a shame a good citizen driving by didn't ram them as they were attempting the theft - I'd happily sacrifice damage to my pride and joy.

Initial thoughts were Audi A5 Sportback but rear windows are different, maybe a last generation Mondeo hatchback but the engine would not be that large.

Is a six series Gran Coupe? The short front overhang and the way the headlamps are positioned in relation to the grilles says BMW to me.

Isn't there a workaround for that well known Rav-4 vulnerability? You may want to look into that.

It could be one of those Audis. The grille opening looks Audi shaped.

OP, showing us the video of the car driving away may help us identify the car? Seeing the back of it may show badging and rear light clustsers.

Kia Stinger? Basically an S5 clone, and I think the back windows are a better match

If it’s a RAV4 it’ll be the same method as Lexus - headlamp ecu - pull bumper and liner out, plug in ten quidsworth of electronics which tells the car the keys are present. No key scanning or cloning necessary.
RAV4 is Frances (or just Paris) number one stolen car. Lexus UX/NX were in the top ten too.
RX450 is in the top ten uk most stolen. RX is getting to the same point as LR products regarding getting insurance. The rest of the range will follow.
Lexus are rolling out a free protection plate installation for the RX but the rest of us are left with buying steering locks and aftermarket immobilisers. Not a good look for a company that prides itself on customer satisfaction.

Could be. I agree on the third side glass, bonnet height and headlamps almost over the front wheel.

Possible. Nose looks like it’s got the badge in the right place and the wheels look roughly right. I haven’t seen any posts reporting a stolen Stinger on the Facebook group.

The OP needs to give us the car driving off on the video. It would show the front wing vents as well as the rear.

Bonnet looks a bit short for the 6GC. The bottom of the A pillar on the car is almost at the back of the front tyre, on the 6 there's a good foot gap.
