Hi Guys,

Currently looking for a new car, i have about 8k to spend maybe a little more.

I want something fun but also decent MPG as i do about 50 miles a day.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

Been looking at them, but heard some bad things about the older models

A bit random, but an i3 is brilliant fun.

Yep, had two F56's (210 Works Cooper S and a JCW) and they coped with 90 miles a day for a time very well, whilst also being incredibly fun. Only problem with either was a brake fluid level sensor, not bad going! In fact, seeing some of them dipping down to the £8k mark has me considering another biglaugh

When mine shuffles off its mortal coil; One D and I've taken it from 40k miles to 110k with basic servicing, I really fancy a quick one with an autobox and cruise etc... but I'm hoping my car keeps on keeping on...200k miles maybe?

Regardless of being able to being very unlikely to get one for that price, I’d not recommend one for a daily. I love mine, but even the most sedate of models is not a place you’d want to be every day in all weathersbiggrin

Good shout. Plenty miles but only 1 owner (hopefully not been the company hack with multiple drivers, but why would you buy that car for those duties?

I’d strongly disagree - not a driver’s car at all, the handling characteristics are quirky at best.

For the budget things like Fiesta STs, Focus STs,Astra VXRs, TTs come up. Depends what’s wanted but plenty of interesting cars around

Peugeot 208GTI Prestige

Comes with climate control, panoramic sunroof, auto wipers and lights, full spare alloy wheel, heated seats, sat nav, digital dash and touchscreen.

Reliable, get 40mpg, seriously quicker and good fun.
