Mattress toppers

Hi. Can anyone suggest a mattress topper? I’ve got a feather filled type at the moment and just don’t think it gives enough support for a side sleeper. I was in a hotel room last night and the topper seemed to be far more supportive- think it was foam but could have been wool. There seems to be many suppliers but want quality first, can anyone share a recommendation? Thanks
I have a memory foam one. I actually picked it up off Freecycle and was given a spare as a bonus.
As I wasn't sure where to store the spare, I decided to put the spare one under the one I'd put down (I'll let your brain do the maths on that
). It's SO comfy.
So there you go - you need two memory foam toppers.

Our old mattress was really on its last legs, and was giving me this weird issue where if I slept on my left hand side I'd wake up in the middle of the night with pins and needles on my left hand side. Was getting concerned until we went on holiday and I didn't suffer from it all week, pointing the finger at our old mattress.
Long story short we bought a Simba mattress with their topper. Wasn't cheap but my word is it comfortable - feels more like a hotel bed than something you'd have at home.

The devon duvets and woolroom toppers are more deluxe mattress protectors. I have both. Both are thick enough to stop you feeling the buttons in the mattress but aren’t thick enough to be properly supportive.
I used to have a memory foam one, that felt really luxurious for 2 years then went ‘off’. It was also very warm, which the wool ones aren’t. It was properly supportive though, as in was thick enough to let your spine take a different, supported shape.
You didn’t state a budget and bed size? For something properly supportive, hypnos and the woolroom have thick microcoil toppers. Pricey though.

Memory foam isn't for everyone and some find it overheats uncomfortably.
A better alternative may be latex (minimum 5cm, 8cm even better if fitted sheets allow). No affiliation but used several times so can recommemd Latex Sense as very reasonable on price, good quality and super comfortable, not hard, not soft, just a really comfy degree of firmness without overheating.

Is it your mattress which is actually causing you pain? A feather topper is pretty thin and pretty much seems to be to take the edge off a hard mattress. I've found that a soft mattress will bend my spine a bit too much, topper or not. A firm mattress with a feather topper is very comfortable for side sleeping.
