Hi all.

It is time I owned an Aston…a Vanquish from 2013 onwards.

Having been to a dealer, I’ve checked and my kids can fit in the back so that’s all good.

To be honest, since I first saw one in blue in 2013, the Vanquish has just made me ache every time I see and that noise is just superb.

Colour wise for me it has to be either Silver/Grey or (dark) Blue

If anyone is thinking about selling please do get in touch.

I’m away till Tuesday but am due to see the Silver over red one at Walton on Wednesday

https://www.hwmastonmartin.co.uk/pre-owned-cars/16...

…but would prefer to buy a car privately with an existing AM warranty.

Does anyone know the car at Walton or have any thoughts? Personally I love a red interior but appreciate a lot might not

Thank you

Thanks both.

Yes, the looking for, as ever, is always just as good as getting the car

Good luck with the search. What age are your kids ? My six yr old fits just fine. We use a “bubble bum” booster seat.

I know it’s not your colour preference but this is a stunning colour -

OMG! I haven’t been looking at the wider AM market since I bought my “forever” car from HWM exactly 2 years ago. I never realised how prices have dropped so much for this model. I was expecting to scroll down and see it had 40k miles… but 15k??? It’s barely run in.

The Vanquish has always been a bargain compared to the V12 Vantage, IMHO, as they are so highly spec’d as standard including the 1000W B&O (so damn good!).

To be honest, I would not bother try to save £2k buying privately at this level - think of the financial transaction hassle alone. Have the confidence of not only the full one year Timeless warranty (cue debate, but for a car new to you, worth every penny) but also the support of such an excellent garage if anything needs attention. I only have very good things to say about both HWM and AM Bristol. It’s a special car - make the possibly one-off occasion feel special from start to end.

Lovely spec. Now go and enjoy!

Yes, my brother used them to sell his V12VSR a few years back. Very positive experience

Absolutely. It’s been loved. Rare to see the luggage set.

The Amethyst car? Either way that sort of low use is a no for me. Rather something, relatively, more used.

Good job you don't live in France.
Prices here for the same Vanquish as mine have gone up by between 20 & 40k over the last 2 years.

Can't recommend the Gen 2 Vanquish highly enough!

Had my Carbon Edition since late August (wish it was earlier in the year so I had more time to really enjoy it in good weather) and it has exceeded all my expectations- looks, performance, comfort, usability, sublime noise- they are I feel undervalued currently and in relative terms a bargain price wise as they offer so much in such a beautiful package and of course the last 6.0 V12, so I would 100% say go for it, you will not regret it.

The 2 rear seats are more than fine for kids and the boot has left me very pleasantly surprised with how much room it offers.

Did you end up going for the car OP?

I test drove the one at HWM Walton. Mike was a real gent and the car is/was glorious to my eyes. Love the interior not being black.

The test drive was about 20 minutes and a mix of local roads and some motorway.

They’re really comfortable, fast and that noise is sublime albeit I needed the window open to truly enjoy it.

But I just didn’t get the ‘I need to own this now’ fizz.

Would be keen to try a later 8 speed or an S but I think, having the porkers I do, ruins other cars, certainly in terms of driving dynamics. I was expecting the Vanquish to feel/drive like this but thought it wouldn’t matter given its other qualities.

I suspect I need to change my mindset because the Vanquish’s looks and noise are light years beyond any other car I own.

Also waiting to hear back from a few PH’ers who’ve got in touch privately re their cars so let’s see where that goes

My thoughts exactly. The Vanquish is not quite as good as its looks and its sound. I was intoxicated by the latter and should really have paid more attention.

No affiliation to this car but it popped up this week and is a lovely colour:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202310273...

I used to have 2008 blue DBS and now on look out for a dark blue vanquish.

OP - you won't find an Aston V12 as nimble as a Porsche - totally different car. Think more GT and effortlessly eating up the miles. Unless you go for a V12 Vantage..?

You’re right. Wasn’t expecting 911 like feel but need to change mindset further I think.

I also agree re the V12V. My brother had a few over the years and they were rabid. His bucket seated manual S cab was especially alive but I’d like the 4 seats so as to include the whole family
