Chesterfield ring road

Anybody know the official 'justification' for downgrading the dual carriageway from 70 to 50?

I don't recall [i]any[/i] speed related crashes thereon......

Has it all been downgraded? if so that's happened between me driving it on saturday night and today sunday afternoon .. strange time to put signs up?

the top part near donkin's roundabout has always been 50mph .. you sure you've not just seen these signs and assumed the whole stretch is 50?

I noticed the covered up 50 signs a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't quite sure what they would be covering.

Obviously 70 is far too fast for a dual carriageway with excellent visibility. Presumably the 'problems' with the road couldn't be sorted out in the months they have just spent modifying the road.

Still, at least they havn't put speed humps down it!

Not so sure about that.....never managed to work out where they view those VASCAR squares from.....

The bridge near the C/field hotel ??? but i have never seen them there and i remember when it were all fields
