I expect the other million will be similar.
Having ran a MK2 turbo for a few years, I have a soft spot for the MR2, even though it fell short of being the sports car it could have been.
Hopefully Toyota will keep the driver focussed-ness of the MK3 in this one, but with the punch of the MK2.

I think I echo some of the comments above in that I'll believe it when I see it but when it does happen it'll go against the trend of the MR2 using lighter weight and the engine from a mainstream model (and other generic parts) and end up being a bit more "niche" and priced accordingly.
It could go two ways, the last combustion engined Toyota swansong with a development of the G16E-GTS or it's going to be a full electric Toyota SUV but with a nicer outfit on, I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun either way but if they don't stick an actual engine in the middle it'll feel more like the them reusing the name than actually creating a new "MR2" and if they back things up with batteries will it still be light enough?
They won't want to challenge the Supra with it and it's unlikely to be a big volume car, the shared platform will help but, like the FT-1, I suspect the finished MR2 will be somewhat watered-down and more ordinary looking.
And out of my price range so it doesn't really matter to me anyway
