Looking on AT at two DB9s for sale. Both 2013, both 38,000 miles both £52,000. But the difference in the state of the seat bolsters is shocking....

Car2:

I literally couldn't buy the first car.

That really is quite a stark contrast, wonder why the first one looks so 'worn'. However a bit of leather restorer should have it looking right again I would imagine.

You can tell from the leather cuts they are not the same.

I would check the specs to identify the grade of leather.

Adam V12V wrote this in 2016.
‘The Strathmore is the free option whilst OK, is really only just of the standard you would expect in an Aston.

The Caithness upgrade is much nicer quality, and given it has the most colour options is probably the most commonly seen leather grade.

The Balmoral upgrade is even better still but due to the limited colour choice and additional cost is rarely seen.’

My guess would be the first car has been owned by a gentleman of more ample proportions who has worn the bolster getting in & out.

I bet many on this forum adopt one technique or another to get in & out without wearing the seat bolsters excessively.
