Changing rear pads with Electronic Parking Brake. Skoda
Discussion
I have a 2019 Skoda Kodiaq with electronic parking brake .
I want to change the rear pads and need a recommendation for a tool to put the parking brake in maintenance mode and then back and re set afterwards. There is a Skoda forum but I don't seem to get any answers between going to the Skoda dealership or buying the VW group scan tool . Both cost a fortune and I have done my own car maintenance for 30 plus years .
I can do the job , I am seeking a recommendation for a low ish cost scanner/ reset tool.
Anyone have a recommendation you have used and it worked
Thanks

As this is also VAG group, have you tried this?

Thank you for taking the time to post those videos I had seen some of them not all. I don't think any of them tell you if you open and then reset from the on or off position of the handbrake, on or off does anyone know..
Looking at the video, the handbrake is clearly "on" at the time as the caliper is not retracting when he is trying to do it.I used Carista to retract the parking brake on my S5.
I think it was £20 on Amazon, with a free month's subscription. So basically whenever you activate it, you have a month to do the job & can read fault codes, make basic coding adjustments, etc.
Then it's £10 a month if you need to reactivate it to do anything else.
A lot of folk don't like this subscription model, but for doing basic intermittent jobs, it works out well for me.
