Polishing exhaust pipes

Currently have the engine out of my motorcycle due to doing some winter maintenance. A job on my list is to get the pipes shiny again as at the minute they're a tinged brown..

What do I need to get these shiny again? Are there tools I can attach to a drill to make the job easier? Would be great to get a list of tools, products I will need.

Also any tips recommendations would be great.

Wet a Scotchbrite pad and get the main schmuchter off, then T-cut.

I use these on everything (apart from large panels as I have a DA polisher). Polished headlights, chrome, smaller/intricate bodywork etc. Just apply whatever product onto the sponge and wash them out afterwards to reuse.

Foil and water. Scrunch some foil into a ball, dip it in water and scrub away. I didn't believe it until I tried it.

Peek, can be found in 1 litre cans that will last you years, will need a wax or similar polish afterwards.

White Diamond leaves a coating but its expensive stuff and doesn't cut as well as Peek in my experience, but you might prefer to finish off with WD once Peek has done the donkey work.

You can use a mechanical polishing pad but for something like an exhaust elbow grease will soon see results, i tend to use harsh cotton cloths which help with the abrasive effect.

Cheers all, so far I have tried scotch brite and elbow grease. Also started to apply autosol.

I have also bought some buffing mops for the drill and some metal polishing compound. I don't want to go too far and have mirror finished metal as that won't look right on the bike.. My aim is just a nice shine

Drdownpipe cleaner seems to get good reviews.

I’ve not used it myself but a broadly spray on method has to be better than scrubbing.
