Thanks, have a better idea of whats involved now. Took it to a mechanic friend of mine, apart from a small loss of power (probably no more than 5%) he agreed that the current cam is good for a while yet. No ominous noises or anything.

Good to know that they can be DIY'd though, even though its a fair bit of work it doesn't seem like a massive job.
