How to remove gearchange mechanism?

I got a noise from inside the frame.Now i know what it is.It come from the gearchange mechanism.
How difficult ist it to remove the whole part?
I inspect it with an endoscope and found some cracks in the metal plates.

No but it is a bothersome. remove the screws in the console compartment under the lift up cover, loosen the stereo pod, remove the heater knobs and panel, and lift the center console trim out of the way. remove a bunch of screws. Depending on the model and year you may have to remove the stereo unit. You may have to remove the instrument binnacle cover.
