Has anyone got any tips/experience of how to go about best protecting a front facing camera in the grille of a car?

I've no idea how resistant a lens cover might be to an incoming stone at speed, but I'd prefer not to find out the expensive way. I'm not sure if a PPF type material would be easily cut to shape to cover the lens, was thinking if one of those suitabley sized smartphone lens protector pads might work?

Any thoughts?

Give PPF film a go. What's the worst that can happen? You have to peel it off and start again.

PPF is the only real solution here beyond fitting an actual plastic cover.

A proper PPF fitter will also know a few tricks to get the PPF in place properly, things like making sure enough liquid is used to move the film around in to place and using a heat gun to shrink it are often used.

Not something I’ve ever worried about. I expect the camera is cheaper to replace if damaged than for example the lights as well as a small fraction of the size.
